International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Nashville chapter is one of more than 100 chapters in 70 countries providing learning opportunities for its members and professional development sessions offering new insights into the latest communication trends, technology, and issues facing the industry. IABC Nashville members and guests enjoy networking opportunities each month through professional development luncheons and more informal social “mixers” during the year. Our chapter is diverse, with members representing regional and national public relations agencies, marketing firms, public and private corporations, government, universities and nonprofit organizations.

Certification is intended to support you throughout your career. The Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC®) has identified roles, responsibilities and competencies for four broad career levels: Foundational, Generalist/Specialist, Strategic Adviser, and Business Leader. At this time, the GCCC offers certification for the Communication Management Professional and Strategic Communication Management Professional levels.



Strong communication is much more than just speaking or writing. Effective communicators can read their audience and make sure their message gets across, whether it be at a corporate presentation or small meeting. Our extensive library of resources and tools can help you develop, practice and perfect the art of communication.

We also support several IABC university chapters in the area including Belmont University and Western Kentucky University. We also support other university programs throughout the region and have members supporting initiatives at the University of Tennessee, Middle Tennessee State University, and Austin Peay State University.

Tony Husband, Lead Commentator of the Nashville Soccer Club

With over two decades of broadcasting and commentating experience around the globe, Tony Husband is known and revered as Nashville Soccer Club’s Lead Commentator where he hosts pre, and post-game shows on-site and in studio alongside full commentary on Fox’s affiliate stations across Tennessee and whole of the US on ESPN Plus.

Husband joined Nashville after a 20-year career with the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), covering soccer’s biggest competitions and leagues as some of the most iconic BBC Sports programs and major events including the Olympics, the FA Cup Final, Champions League football, World Athletics Series and Wimbledon.

He joined the ranks of the iconic TV sport’s show BBC Match of the Day in 2013 and is also part of the Final Score crew watched by millions of UK television viewers every Saturday afternoon on BBC1. He presented every night across the south of England on the BBC1 show “South Today”.

Tony has a deep connection with American sports and has hosted coverage of both the NFL and MLB for BBC network radio.
